Leaders Following Christ is proud to award a significant grant to Capacity to Serve to help expand the Founder’s Table Network, a small group discipleship program for entrepreneurs that is run by the local church. We’ve invested in this mission because Founder’s Table shares our passion for helping entrepreneurs grow in their God-given calling and for helping churches lead people towards maximizing their impact for Christ. Their program embeds directly into the church, unleashing growth that impacts not just the entrepreneur, but their leadership, business, family, church, and the community around them.
The Need for Churches: A Leadership Gap Hiding in Plain Sight
Across the country, pastors are praying for more leaders, more vision, and deeper connection to their communities. Churches feel the need for people who can take initiative, solve problems, and help move ministry forward. The leaders churches are searching for are often already among them—faithful, gifted, and unnoticed.
They’re entrepreneurs—builders, creators, risk-takers, and innovators with God-given gifts that shape workplaces and communities every day.
But many of them don’t feel like they fit anywhere in the church.
The Missing Piece for Business Owners: When Your Calling Doesn’t Have a Home
Entrepreneurs often carry a fire that few people understand—a blend of creativity, responsibility, resilience, and vision that pushes them to build something meaningful. They feel the weight of leadership, the pressure of decisions, and the desire to create work that reflects their values and honors God. Many business owners long for a faith that speaks into their Monday-through-Saturday world, not just their Sunday morning.
And yet, for countless entrepreneurs, there’s a missing piece: a place in the church where their calling makes sense.
Too often, business owners don’t see how their gifts fit within traditional discipleship pathways. They may assume the church doesn’t understand their challenges, or they feel alone in navigating the intersection of faith, leadership, profit, and purpose. As a result, they pour out endlessly in their businesses without receiving the kind of spiritual investment that could strengthen everything they touch.
But when entrepreneurs are discipled—with intentional conversations, biblical grounding, and a supportive community—their lives begin to transform. Their leadership becomes more grounded, their relationships deepen, their work reflects God’s heart, and their influence reaches far beyond their business.
A discipled entrepreneur becomes a catalyst for Kingdom impact—at home, at work, and in their community.
And that’s the missing piece that Founder’s Table Network was created to provide.
The Success of the Pilot
In 2025, the initial grant from Leaders Following Christ to Capacity to Serve allowed Founder’s Table Network curriculum to be developed, refined, and launched as a pilot in five churches.
The Process:
The early results were deeply encouraging. Entrepreneurs who had never before seen themselves in a discipleship pathway found a place to grow, connect, and encounter God in meaningful ways.
Entrepreneurs responded with remarkable consistency and depth—showing up faithfully, engaging with Scripture through the daily journal, and leaning into meaningful conversations about faith and calling.
The Outcomes:
Pastors saw spiritual fruit almost immediately: salvations and baptisms, stronger engagement, and entrepreneurs stepping forward to serve in ways they never had before. Many even committed to use their businesses more intentionally for God’s glory or launched new nonprofit initiatives as a result. Most importantly, participants began to see their work as a God-given calling—realizing that their influence in the marketplace is a powerful opportunity to glorify God.
“This was exactly what I needed to stave off the loneliness that comes with entrepreneurship, the confusion of the intersection of faith and profit, and the honor in following God in this way.”
— Marissa E., Entrepreneur
“I’ve been through a lot of these kinds of cohorts, and I’ve never been in one that made Kingdom things so practical and transformative. The process has allowed me to clarify my next steps in following Christ.”
— Matthew S., Entrepreneur + Pastor
“I learned to see my industry in light of God’s calling and how his purposes can be reflected in my business. As a result, I have recentered my business model around Kingdom values with a new plan to create customer experiences that lead people toward Christ.”
— Christina H., Entrepreneur
Looking Ahead to 2026
At the heart of the 2026 grant is a bold goal: to fully fund Founder’s Table Network for 100 churches. These congregations will receive everything they need to launch the program—printed journals and materials, facilitator training, invitations to gather entrepreneurs, and a grant to host their kickoff dinner. For many churches, this removes the single biggest barrier to reaching and discipling entrepreneurs with intention.
Beyond funding these churches, the grant also supports two new editions of the curriculum—a Spanish version and a women’s edition—so even more leaders can discover how God is calling them to use their position of influence for his glory. And through ongoing coaching and training, pastors and facilitators will have the support they need to lead these entrepreneurs well.
This investment helps churches do what they’ve always longed to do: recognize the leaders already in their midst and guide them toward meaningful, Kingdom-shaped influence.
